Thank you so much for organising this platform to share ideas on how we are foring on.Here in kenya,we have jointly initiated a De Brazza monitoring exercise in order to better understand their status.the De Brazza monkeys in Kisere forest of Kakamega was last surveyed over 10 years ago and we feel we must check them.so far we have started a monitoring scheme and wish to request any advice on how to do the census of the rare De Brazza monkeys.
An Alumni of Germany 2004.I will further share information as we carry on this exercise.

Kakamega Forest in one of the last remaining Tropical Rain Forests that stretched all the way from central and west Africa during pleistocene period. The Forest currently hosts a diverse aray of flora and fauna'some of which are rare or threatened with extinction. The communities around this forest have over depended on it for fuelwood extraction,an activity that has posed serious threats to its biodiversity.Eco2Librium Company has invented sustainable solutions to wood consumption by reducing the amounts to less than 50% by installing energy saving cook stoves that are quite hygienically accepted, good for health and cheap to maintain. We have so far installed over 90,000 stoves in over 50,000 households and we aspire to go on and beyond as we think of other ways to eliminate the extraction of wood from the forest for fuelwood.Additionally,we have come up with briquette production which is an alternative to wood charcoal and burns for long compared to wood charcoal.this product is made from sugar cane wastes from surrounding sugar factories like West Kenya and Butali Sugar factories. We therefore invite any advice from all in order to save our forests.
