Alumniportal labs – Creative space for exchange

Our Labs provide space to enter into a joint dialogue and to develop creative ideas and projects and models. During the one-day event Germany-Alumni come together with local and international experts and representatives from politics, business and civil society as well as with German organisations. They share knowledge, contribute with their range of expertise and network.

Objective of the Alumniportal Labs: exchange and networking

Procedure: Keynote speeches, presentation of project ideas, exchange by participatory methods like LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®, Journaling or World Café

Where and when: in selected countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America

Duration: 1 day

Participation: per application

Labs 2018: “Future of Work”

The future of work is currently being shaped by globalisation and digitalisation. How do these global trends affect job markets and policies? We discuss these and other questions in our Labs “Future of Work”.

Lab 2018: “Success Factors for Citizen Engagement”

Our first Lab in 2018 took place during the “Global Festival of Action for Sustainable Development” on March 23 in Bonn, Germany. The topic of the lab: “Success Factors for Citizen Engagement”.

Labs 2017: “No Future without Education”

Do you have innovative ideas on how high-quality, inclusive and fair education can be achieved? This question was the impulse to apply for one of the four “No Future Without Education” Labs the Alumniportal organized in 2017. The Labs took place for the first time and were held in the countries Kenya, Vietnam, India and Ethiopia. 

The 2030 Agenda, which includes 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), offers a lot of opportunities for indivduals to show solidarity. How? Visit our section “THE GLOBAL GOALS – powered by Alumni”!

Yes, I agree with Bob Etemiku, that, as far as I am concerned as a member of Alumniportal deutschland, I did not notice any relevant program for the alumni meant for Nigeria via this medium.

Thank you for your comments and your interest regarding the Labs that were implemented by the Alumniportal team in some countries. Please note that it is not planned to have other Labs in the near future. But, we are happy to inform you that we will soon open up the community group "Alumniportal Labs - Future of Work" for all interested people. You will have the possibility to find interesting materials and reports about the topic "Future of Work" in the group as well as presentations of input speakers held at the different Labs and the Lab reports. Furthermore, you can start an exchange with the other community members around this topic.
We will soon announce the opening up of the community group via our newsletter.
