“I wanted to know how the world works”

A DAAD scholarship gave Isabela Paredes Cisneros the opportunity to study clinical physics in Heidelberg and Santiago de Chile. Isabela, who comes from Colombia, is now working on her doctoral thesis and has found an effective way of coping with the culture clash.

Languages of minorities: the fight against oblivion

Amri Sherzamonov’s mother tongue is officially in danger of dying out. To help prevent that, the researcher from Tajikistan participated in the ifa’s CCP Fellowship programme in 2018 and came to Germany. During his stay, he developed a new skill set and improved his research methods.
